A mass gainer generally have 15g protein in 100g of powder ,hence is adds a lot of fat with very less muscles , you have to constantly look upon other protein sources. On the other hand a whey protein concentrate have 24g of protein in 30g of powder , hence it adds no mass as such just pure lean muscles which takes time to develop.
